Navajo Lake Area – Arboles

Boating on Navajo Lake

The Navajo Lake area is within Archuleta County but it’s not Pagosa Springs at all

The postal area down there is Arboles, CO 81121, though Arboles is a town that really hasn’t happened yet.  There is extensive dry pastureland and many Pagosans winter their horses in the milder climate of the Arboles area.

The big draw in this area is Navajo Lake, which is a 15,000 surface-acre reservoir that extends for 35 miles south in to New Mexico. Navajo Lake State Park is Colorado’s answer to Lake Powell.  It’s located on the lake, 35 miles SW of Pagosa Springs just off Hwy. 151. Open year round, the park offers great boating, fishing and camping.

The only significant development in Area 11 is Piedra Park.   There are lots from .5 acre to over 5 acres with a private central water system, electric, no sewers, and no covenants.   Some lots offer great views of the lake and very distant mountains.
